The FoundationOne Gallery is located in down town Decatur. It is a graphic design company specializing in anything you
need for advertising or the web. They just recently moved to the newer, larger space in Decatur in order to incorporate
their own art gallery, where they plan to support local artist while bringing in attention to thier own design team.
The Clash of the Titans Show on April 22 was their grand opening bash & they had what I thought was a pretty good turn out.
A DJ outside kept people entertained as they sat in the cool night weather. Inside, TIndel and Michi, 2 artists who, in
colaboration wtih urban media, filled they 2 different rooms with fantastic paintings and prints. The first room was a tribute to
fluorescent lights. Large prints were manipulated with neon yellows and pink stencils and spray to create interesting
images that were glowing brightly in the dark room. The second room was huge, and about 30 or so paintings were on
display. The place had a hip-hop kinda feel and sound and they poured free booze for all. You can see the workspace
of FoundationOne from over a wall and it seemed like they personalized everything with thier own style...
there were stickers, Skateboard Decks, Stickers and Shirts... At the end of the show, Tindel and Michi even personalized
a few prints for people to take home.
The gallery seems very flexible, you can either have a little or a lot of space and they can even fit multimedia works. It is a
perfect tech-savey gallery, which can help a lot with all the computer driven art emerging. I would suggest anyone who
dabbles in high tech media to utilize these guys.
